Just a quick info post! For those of you who use
Chrome, they've finally added tab hibernation (I used to use a really nice extension called The Great Suspender that did this, so I'm so hype to have this again. It got taken down from the Chrome store, but now I'm seeing that it's back again? I have no clue when that happened lmao.)
HOWEVER: If you enable it (you should!!) you'll want to go here:
chrome://settings/?search=memory
and add my code tester to the
always keep these sites active area to avoid accidental refreshes.
It's also good to add things like YouTube to this if you're like me and you leave videos open for uh... too long lmfao and don't want to risk losing your place.
For me personally, I added my code tester, the page for layout customization on IJ, and YouTube, and I let everything else hibernate when left inactive. Basically, any page you leave open frequently that has an active form element (like a textarea) that you tend to leave unfinished content in, you'll want to add those to the list so that you can take advantage of this feature without it fucking you over LOL.
This feature rules as long as you remember to add any exclusions you might need; the extension I used to use had that capability too, so I'm glad Chrome didn't drop the ball on that front.
